Ai Ngang Taa Daeng — Red-Eyed Ngang by Ajarn Apichai
Traditional Thai Necromantic Amulet | Maha Saneah, Attraction & Enchantment
Ai Ngang Taa Daeng, or the Red-Eyed Ngang, is a form of Phra Ngang associated with Maha Saneah, attraction, charm, influence, and enchantment within Thai sorcery.
This particular amulet was crafted by my teacher, Ajarn Apichai of Chiang Mai, Thailand, whose work with Phra Ngang and necromantic sorcery draws upon teachings and methods passed down through his lineage.
The amulet was prepared using a traditional combination of magical powders, cemetery soil, herbs, roots, flowers, sacred oils, and other ritual materials associated with Thai enchantment work. These ingredients are brought together through the methods of the practitioner and the Wicha used in its construction.
The seated figure is distinguished by its red eyes and gold-leaf finish, while the reverse contains additional ritual components, including a takrut and cloth associated with its preparation.
Although Phra Ngang may have different applications depending on the lineage and manner in which it is made, this particular form places considerable emphasis on Saneah. Within Thai sorcery, Ngang is traditionally approached for personal magnetism, romantic attraction, favorable attention, confidence, and influence in social situations.
Beyond attraction, devotees may also approach Ngang for luck, opportunities, prosperity, and assistance in personal endeavors.
I have always considered Phra Ngang to be one of the more interesting figures within Thai sorcery. Its reputation is not built upon appearances alone, but upon the relationship between the practitioner, the amulet, and the traditional forces associated with its construction.
This is a piece intended for someone who appreciates the spirit-oriented practices of Thai sorcery and understands that working with an amulet involves more than simply wearing it.
